The casket was what got me first.
It's a wonderfully over-the-top vintage metal jewelry box covered in dimensional roses, leaves and sweeping Art Nouveau style scrollwork, right down to its curved little feet. It has the look of an old vanity box or trinket casket, and frankly, leaving it empty seemed like a waste.
So I filled it with rocks.
Inside you'll find 15 different crystals and gemstones, from familiar favorites like clear quartz, rose quartz and amethyst to black kyanite, bloodstone, lapis lazuli and a tiny carved white jade rabbit.
It's essentially a little crystal cabinet in a box.

The Vintage Casket
The star of the whole thing is the vintage metal casket itself.
Covered with raised roses, leaves and flowing botanical scrollwork, it has an Art Nouveau Revival appearance rather than the geometric lines you'd expect from Art Deco. The warm aged metal finish and ornate feet give it exactly the sort of old-world look I want sitting among books, tarot decks and assorted suspicious objects.
Use it to keep the included crystals together, add your own little treasures, store jewelry or put it on your altar.
Once the crystals inevitably migrate all over your house, because that's apparently what crystals do, the casket remains a beautiful vintage piece on its own.
About Vintage Pieces
This is a vintage, pre-owned casket and shows the normal variations, patina and signs of age you'd expect from an older piece. Please look through the photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
I have not identified a maker or exact production date, so I'm describing the design as Art Nouveau style/revival rather than claiming the casket itself dates to the original Art Nouveau period.
