Good news. I found you a boyfriend. There is one small complication involving the passage of approximately 130 years.
This original cabinet card features an unidentified Victorian gentleman photographed by Fay of Malone, New York, dressed in his suit with a high white collar, stickpin and a mustache that clearly required both commitment and equipment.
His real name and story have been lost, which means we're left with the important questions. Was he respectable? Was he trouble? Did he own a mysterious estate? Did he tell everyone he was "in business" while refusing to elaborate?
We'll never know.
What we do know is that he would look fabulous tucked into an antique frame, added to a Victorian gallery wall, displayed among old books and curiosities, or brought out for Halloween as photographic evidence of the tragic fiancé you absolutely refuse to discuss.
