I don't have a clever story for this one.
No photographer's name. No handwritten identity. No hometown. Nobody bothered to leave us a note saying, “This is Edith. She bites.”
Nothing.
What we do have is an antique tintype photograph of a young girl dressed rather formally, wearing what appears to be a layered necklace and looking directly toward the camera.
Unlike the cabinet cards in this collection, the actual photograph is made on a thin sheet of metal rather than photographic paper. It's still held inside its decorative golden-yellow paper mount with a red oval surround and delicate red border.
And I kind of love that she has remained anonymous.
Someone dressed her. Someone arranged her hair. Someone took her to have this portrait made. Someone kept the photograph long enough for it to survive all these years.
We just don't know who any of them were.
I have not done a psychic reading on this photograph, so her story remains entirely open for whoever adopts her.
Use her in an antique photograph collection, cabinet of curiosities, Victorian display, ancestor-style altar, or as an interesting subject for psychometry, intuitive work or your own divination practice.
Condition
Authentic antique condition with considerable age-related wear, scratching, surface marks, fading and deterioration visible on the tintype and its paper mount.
I am keeping the photograph inside the clear plastic protective sleeve shown in the photos, and it will be sent to you that way. I have not attempted to remove, clean, polish or otherwise disturb the tintype.
