The difference between the being a successful interior designer and a not so successful comes down to this one thing.
Want to stand out online as an interior design pro? This is the secret they won't ever share with you.
Your business growth is dependent on you and evolving. The thoughts that got you this far, won't get you there. Wherever there is for you.
Can we just be honest? Like really fucking honest?
You simply don’t want it enough.
Sure, you say you do but I’m not entirely sure you’re telling the truth.
You need to take action on ideas.
If you are buying ideas and do nothing with them you won't get results.
Seriously, you could read every blog post I have written since late 2012 and start your design business from all the information I've shared through the years. But you probably won't.
Don't tell me you have no money or little money to start your business. Go get some money.
If you can't figure out how to make enough money to get started with your business you shouldn't be in business. Period. End of fucking story.
You lie to yourself every day. You don't want to face the truth.
If you listened to the truth, what you need to hear, you wouldn't be able to fall back into the seductiveness of the lies you tell yourself.
Your problem is you're busy, not productive.
I learn only what I need to. I work the least amount of hours as possible. I put out as much effort as I can skate by on.
If that's you, get the fuck out of business.
If you’re not obsessed with your business, don’t expect anyone else to be obsessed with it.
I don’t care how brilliant you are at what you do.
If you don’t constantly advertise, market and sell yourself - you don’t have a business.
Sitting around with your thumb up your ass waiting for someone to notice you is a sure way to be out of business.
You are just hiding. On purpose. Newsflash! That's not why you're here.
I'm not going to sugar coat this. You need to show up and solve a problem. You say you do that?
Death and taxes, eh? I know, totally blows.
Instead of wishing that you didn't have to pay them (because they are here to stay) change your perspective on them.
You were born to do this. Don't let anything get in your way.
You need to decide right now that you will do what you need to do make it happen.
I bet everyone reading this wants to be a successful interior designer. But, If you're struggling to grow your interior design business it could be because you're having an issue with one of these items
You have this dream of becoming an interior designer. Are you giving up on that? While the time's been passing, your dreams have been dying.
Warning: This Post May Piss You Off.
I had a post up on Facebook that led to my email list opt-in.
It's a pretty successful freebie opt in training for mylist building activities. After all, interior designers want to know how to get clients.
Then there was this one comment on that Facebook post.
"First, you need an education in design. If you are in a right to practice state, you also need to pass the NCIDQ, as well as register with the state."
Fuck that shit.
