You know that your brilliance is hiding right around the corner (or colon) and if you could just get over it you could be on the path to success with a strategy.
Here's 10 Interior Design Business Strategies To Double Your Income
Strategy #1: Stop forcing it.
You can't fit a square peg in a round hole. If what you're doing isn't working, see that as your answer and change course. If you hate doing something, it shows. Here's what you do instead. Be you and share those things that you're afraid to share and be helpful. It's really not about that you need to post on Facebook at 1pm, it's what your posting and that you're making real connections with the people you serve.
Strategy #2: You can't be everything to everyone.
You could design anything and everything, but you shouldn't. If you people don't know what you do specially in one sentence then you need to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to sum up your awesome sauce in a sentence. Stop making it so damn confusing.
Strategy #3: Stop copying others.
Whether or not you realize it, sometimes you start to sound like someone you're not. I feel into this trap when I first was starting out and thought the only way I could be successful was to sound like the prissy bitch designer who talked down to my clients to prove my expertise. No one is going to buy a damn service from you if you don't start with being you - and you, my dear, are awesome.

Open your ears up.
Have you even asked your peeps what they want from you? Or are you doing whatever the eff you want? There is a way to do what you want and have people want that. Figure out where you can meet them where they're at.

Are you leaving your success up to your client?
The thing about being a business owner is hat you can't let your clients dictate when they want to buy. You have to make them take action. And a big part of that is making sure you remind them you have something for sale. You can't just expect them to land on your sales page and buy something. Lead them. All the time.
Strategy #6: Do you have a plan?
Without a plan or goals you've got nothing. I could wish for a brand new Challenger Hellcat to show up tomorrow. The odds are slim to none that's gonna happen without action on my part. You can wish for 5 clients to show up tomorrow and without action on your part it ain't gonna happen. Get a plan and stick to it. Take action. That's the only way you can move forward and see if what you're doing is working.
Strategy #7: Do you have a website?
You can go the free-ish route, and get yourself a free blog. But I wonder why you want to invest effort into that because what happens if you work your ass off and get a following. Then you need to direct them to your new site. Guess what? That traffic is going to be cut in half. Or more.
Once you get people used to going to one place on the web and then you tell them you're really going 'pro' now and to follow you on your new domain www.awesomedesigner.com you will lose a good portion of your traffic you've built up. And a bit of your credibility. Believe that you are a success and invest in it.
Strategy #8: You're a student and not an action taker.
There is risk in life. You have to be willing to fail and not see your failures as that. But as learning experiences. You failed, so what? You tried and that's more than most people can say. So take that risk and fail spectacularly. Then try again. It's not gonna kill you. I promise.
Strategy #9: Start writing like no one's reading.
Your biggest opportunity to have people pay attention to you is to write from your heart. And it is damn scary to do that. But, you can do it if you think no one is reading it. Write to one person and pour your heart out. Be funny, be different, be you. Writing (or doing videos) helps your dream client connect with you and that's the connection that will boost your bottom line.
Strategy #10: Just effing do it.
You can't play it safe it you want to be successful. You can't wait for someone else to do this for you. You can't imitate success. You have to put in the hard work. You have to take action. You have to get off your ass and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Pity parties of one don't inspire others. Be the designer that people can't help being attracted to.
