The Harsh Truth: Why Nobody Reads Your Emails

You've built an email list and nobody responds. You send out all sorts of emails. Sometimes you send out helpful blog posts and sometimes you send out sales emails but nobody cares.

Nobody cares about you. They care about themselves. And this is what you need to realize about your business. 

How do you get people to care about you? You talk about them and about the problem they have. When you do this, you'll quickly realize that if you speak the truth that you'll piss people off. 

I sent out a blog post to my email list. This one. It pissed people off. 

This isn't the first time that I've received an email from someone who was offended by what I've said. I've received tons of emails over the years from people I've pissed off. #sorrynotsorry

You see, when you speak truth a wise man will be grateful and a fool will hate you.

Your job is to get people to see that they have a problem and then show them that they don't need to live with this problem.

If you read that post I referenced earlier, you'll wonder how could that have pissed anyone off?

It struck a chord because I called them out without knowing who they were specifically. I know my ideal client so well that I also know exactly how to repel those that I would never ever want to work with. 

You see, people don't care about you, but they care about themselves. So when you call out a mistake that people are making, they pay attention.

What's even more remarkable is that the people you call out on their mistake will hold onto to the merit of their mistake to their own detriment when they aren't serious about finding a solution. AKA you're able to virtually escort those tire kickers and cheap clients out the door.

You want people to read your emails? Write the truth.
